etransmedia signs prominent Bariatric Surgical Practice

February 6, 2006, Troy NY - etransmedia is pleased to announce the signing of a prominent Bariatric Surgical practice in New Jersey. 

Despite a strong patient load and an uncommon specialty, this practice as suffering flat revenues.  Through well-planned cost management, the practice had remained in good financial standing, but the principals were unwilling to let rising costs overwhelm their practice.  Referred to Etransmedia by one of their largest referrers, the practice management asked that Etransmedia propose a method of growing revenue. 

etransmedia's analysis team found several problems.  Because a large portion of the billed procedures were performed in a hospital, a great deal of demographic information and chart notes were unavailable to the in-house billers.  Further, no system was in place to let the practice manager hold in-house billers accountable for unbilled claims.  Additionally, the Practice Management system in place did not provide the reporting tools necessary for the billers, practice manager, or providers to see with clarity the financial trends affecting the practice. 

Within a matter of days, etransmedia's implementation experts had transferred the legacy billing system data to an industry leading PM system.  By providing the practice with Access at two user levels, etransmedia has provided the front desk with scheduling ability and the providers and manager with reporting features previously unavailable to them.  "They have been completely blown away by the transparency in their new system," remarked etransmedia Dir. of Healthcare Billing, "They're very excited to have a handle on the day-to-day billing functions." 

In addition to a premier Practice Management system, etransmedia provided a methodical workflow for ensuring follow-up on all outstanding documentation from the various hospitals the practice provides in.  Consequently, the number of unbilled claims has been greatly reduced, and the average time between date of service and date billed has been cut by 50%.
