etransmedia reduces documentation problems for Prominent Plastic Surgeon

November 1, 2005, Troy NY - Since commencing preliminary work with a prominent New Jersey Plastic Surgeon, etransmedia has dramatically increased the practice's control over documentation, which has already reaped rewards for the practice.      

Workflow issues were steadily increasing the backlog of documentation, unbilled claims, and unworked A/R.  Due to the surgeon's heavy volume, chart notes were often left until the evening to complete and were not reconciled with the appropriate superbills the next day.  Additionally, the lack of documentation meant that denials went without appeal.  The practice's documentation problems were apparent on the payment posting side as well, as evidenced by a high level of disorganization in the EOB filing system. 

etransmedia's assessment immediately identified the issues present.  An implementation team revised the front desk procedures to maximize copay collection and ensure that patient demographics and insurance information are collected.  Further, all superbills are reconciled with the appropriate notes by the following morning.  Using etransmedia's free proprietary software, the front desk now uploads each day's charges and payments.  Charges are entered and billed out next day, and the scanned images are available indexed by time.
