etransmedia signs prestigious NJ Spinal Group

October 25, 2005, Troy NY - etransmedia is pleased to announce our selection as the Revenue Management Cycle provider to a well-known Spinal Group in New Jersey. 

This group of distinguished orthopedists and physical medicine providers had long suffered billing problems and had in-fact switched billing services more than once in the last few years.  The management group was wary of switching to another third-party biller after the problems and delays they had experienced when switching before.  Unfortunately, the reality of their cash flow problems, and the realization that their current biller could not perform, demanded they find another solution. 

Referred by colleagues to etransmedia, the Spine Group asked how best to approach the situation.  Etransmedia's analysis team produced a list of priority items and began work immediately.  First, Etransmedia's transition team worked with the group's clearinghouse to begin submitting claims electronically as soon as possible, thus ensuring that clean, current claims provided the cash flow necessary to keep the practice afloat.  In tandem the transition team focused on the previous billing service's record.  Analysis revealed flat payments despite seasonal variation in the group's charges, likely indicating excessive write-offs.  Moreover, the practice management system showed a much larger amount of charges entered than had been billed out; a large number of claims had simply fallen through the cracks after being put aside for lack of chart notes.  Pulling data from the legacy system, Etransmedia identified, corrected, and billed the neglected claims and the practice has already received payments on most of them. 

"It was very fortunate that they contacted us when they did," said Etransmedia's Director of Healthcare Billing, "Their cash flow was no longer at the point necessary to sustain them, and they were on the brink of financial crisis as a result.  Our relationship with the clearinghouse they used really helped as well in getting them set up to submit electronically with no delay."  The group is now again on solid footing, and is now discussing the move from paper charts to etransmedia's EMR product.
